How to Make a Recipe Private

Public versus private recipes

When you create or edit a recipe, you choose whether it is public, meaning other users can see it, or private, meaning only you can see it.

Steps to make a recipe private

1. Go to My Cookbook or your list of created recipes.
2. Open the recipe you want to change.
3. Select the option to edit the recipe.
4. Find the visibility setting on the edit screen.
5. Change the setting from public to private.
6. Save your changes.

Steps to make a recipe public again

1. Open the recipe and select edit.
2. Change the visibility setting from private to public.
3. Save your changes.

If something goes wrong

• If you cannot find the visibility setting, make sure you are editing a recipe you created, not a saved recipe from another user.
• If the change does not seem to apply, refresh the recipe page after saving.
• If you are unsure of the current visibility, open the recipe in edit mode to check the setting.
